This was quite boring to create, maybe I'm just getting tired of creating Windows XP themes. I'm thinking about switching to open source soon, the only thing that worries me is Photoshop. CS and CS2 work fine in wine, (I use CS) but I don't know if the performance is the same in wine. Gimp is just not enough at the moment. The interface (even in 2.6) is still horrible, and some must-have features like layer-grouping is still not there.
ANY QUESTIONS OR PROBLEMS WITH MY VISUAL STYLES? SEE MY FAQ FIRST! - [link]
All my Visual Styles and Skins are "open source". That means you can make modifications and ports as long as you submit it with the same Creative Commons License I use, and a link back to the original work too. No need to ask for permission.
Maybe you can create themes for Vista, even though creating themes for Vista can be a real pain.
Regarding switching to open source: Why don't you create your graphics with CS3 on a XP machine? I know, this is somewhat a lame compromise, but unfortunately, there's no native Photoshop for Linux.
sama problem för mig. hade gåt över till linux dir om d inte vatt för photoshop, cs2 går ju igång. men funkar si sådär. inga snabbknappar på tangentbordet funkar osv osv
Re: switching to OSS, I know what you mean about Photoshop and it's probably one of main factors that stops people fully switching to the OSS scene. If I've learnt anything though, it's that in GIMP, the same exact features may not be in Photoshop, but there is STILL a way to achieve the end result, albeit through different, maybe longer, means.
It just takes a little learning and some determination.
Alternatively, you could set up a dual-boot system and keep Windows on a small partition for Photoshop use. Lots of people do that.
The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
