Just testing some stuff (in virtualbox)... I've grown fond to that type of "fake gnome-panel transparency" by embedding the graphics in the wallpaper instead. :p

Wall: [link]
Icons: [link] and [link]
GTK: [link]
Emerald: Included here - [link]
Apps: docky, nautilus (elementary), gnome-globalmenu, xfce4-terminal, feh
Font: Trebuchet MS

Hey, did you have a Nautilus, there is only one window, as we now return to the default settings for Nautilus?

Sorry to bother, pretty new to ubuntu and docky. Great shot btw. I have a question, do you know a way to change the docky applet icon to something else, and if you do, how?

Very nice desk. I use your Zuki too (with classic nautilus). Can't reach the link to that transparent panel. Seems it's broken. Trying several days without the result. :)

I'm kinda of a noob linux but can this also be done on Ubuntu?
Also, what did you mean by "fake gnome-panel transparency"; you mean the outside transparent border thing is part of the wallpaper?

I'm asking cuz I'm formatting my laptop and installing Ubuntu on it, but I'm kinda confused on the themes. I hear there's emerald, GNOME, and GTK but am not really sure what they are

The meaning of gnome-themes and gtk-themes are probably the same. You can find nearly all of the best themes at here on DA and on www.gnome-look.org . Emerald-window-decorator is just as the name says. It just changes the "border" of windows but it has better themes becaus of the transparency I bet.

The "fake gnome-panel transparency" you're asking about is the wallpaper itself. He set the panel's transparency to "invisible" so he gets a fully transparent panel at the top, and the "fake panel" you see is the customized wallpaper with a simple image editing program.

You should be able to do this in any Linux distro with Gnome. What he does (if I remember correctly) is modify the panel in the theme he is using to have a single color. Then he sets the panel to 100% transparency.

After that he goes into Photoshop and creates a custom panel on the wallpaper image itself, giving the illusion seen in this screenshot.

ahh ic - I'll look into it more after I finish backing up my xp stuff, and install Ubuntu - the default theme looks ugly - also not sure why it posted twice^^

Awesomely smooth as always, you always make me want to reinstall linux, but I've just uninstalled it cuz of formatting and I'd use it for nothing, but it's just gorgeous. :lala: brainstormin -.-'
